What is rotor-molding?

The production of plastic products is rather expensive, while there are a lot of technical difficulties. However, there is a way out of this problem. Rotational molding, or rotor-molding — is a rather simple process of plastics processing. Rotational molding has several advantages over other methods. Rotational molding process is relatively simple. It allows you to influence on it actively and receive competitive in pricing and consumption characteristics high-quality products. Rotational molding method is based on the rotation of a hollow form in the heating chamber, the temperature of which is 180-200°C. The powder, put into the form, melts and envelops the interior of the form that has the outline of the desired product.

The process of manufacturing products by the rotor-molding method can be divided into four stages.

1 . Loading the polymeric material into the form (powdered polymeric material is used).

2. Molding. The mold is placed into the heating chamber in which the heating and rotation of the form takes place.

3. Cooling the form with the product. The form is being cooled by a cold air flow.

4. Removing the product from the form. Form is being opened and the finished product is being extacted.
